Hi all,

New to the forums but a long time rig builder. Last one I bought and built was in '09 and have been frankenstiening it ever since. I feel like it's time to upgrade!

I've spent the last several hours doing research and hopefully I'm in the ballpark!

A few things to start. I want this for gaming. Mostly MMOs (GW2 and future). I also word process, web browse, and do some mild coding in Python.

This is my main monitor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236059 (ASUS VH236H 23 Inch Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black)

I currently have a 10k RPM HDD I got back in 09 and a 500gb HDD for storage so I'm pretty sure I need a new Hard Drive (Suggestions?)

Also, I should be able to salvage my PSU from my existing system, but I'll have to check the wattage when I get home. Pretty sure it's 750 or so. Otherwise I was thinking maybe this (Raidmax Hybrid 730W ATX12V/ EPS12V Power Supply RX-730SS)

Finally, here is my system!

CPU Cooler
Corsair H80

Motherboard
ASRock Z77 Extreme4

Memory

Do you see any bottlenecks? Concerns? Suggestions? Bring em on! I'd really appreciate it :)

Can you explain a bit about why you would avoid watercooling in favor of air?

Not sure at this point. I usually dont, but who knows in the future?

Why do you ask?

Also, would you guys suggest the extreme 4, or the extreme 3 (given that there is a deal right now for the extreme 3 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157330 ?

As I understand it, the extreme 3 comes with 2 less USB 3.0 ports and a few less OC features. Is it something I should consider or is the extreme 4 the way to go?

Also, as for my existing PSU, it's the Antec TruePower 2.0 TP2-550 EPS12V 550W ATX12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready Power Supply

Suppose I need a new one eh? :)

Fair enough.

How about this?

Added a 128GB SSD for my OS, the 600w psu you recommended, swapped the mobo.

Ignore the pricing.

I agree, thats a good deal. But you know how "just adding one more bit" or upgrading this and that just a bit ends up driving the price beyond your budget.

I feel like Black Friday / Cyber Monday will bring some good deals, and if not, I'm OK with the 600W I'm planning to buy, but great find! Post it in the Hot Deals section!
