Video Card Troubleshooting

I can't catch a break. I built a new computer back in June. Specs are as follows:

i5-2500K Stock with Corsair H100
MSI Z77A-GD65
16 GB 1333 MHz RAM from Patriot
Corsair AX750
Mushkin Chronos 120GB SSD
640GB HDD
Windows 7 Ultimate
32" Panasonic 1080P TV

Now to the problem, when I first put this system together I bought a Gigabyte GTX680, put it all together it fired up fine and played games fine, but it would not resume the display when coming from sleep or after a shut down, had to remove the HDMI cable and reseat it into the TV to get the display to come up.

Sent it back for a Galaxy GTX670. Same issue. Gave up on Nvidia, went to AMD and got an HD 7870. Worked great out of the box, resumed my display correctly and played games brilliantly. All this happened inside of a month so I have had the 7870 since 07/2012.

Yesterday, I bought Torchlight 2 and tried to play it and 5 minutes in had a black screen crash that I had to hard reboot to fix. Fired it up again and all is well, but then had another black screen crash about an hour in. Found several threads where this is an issue with the 7870. Fine, setup an RMA with ASUS and put in an old GTX560 that was sitting in my wife's PC not getting use. Same issues as with the 6XX series. Works great but can't get a signal after the display is turned off. Works fine in my wife's computer but in mine, no dice.

Now, I have tried troubleshooting with the 670 and 680 with various drivers, reseating the card, fresh windows install, changing cables, verifying that the PSU works, changed cases, etc. Anyone have any other thoughts as to what I can do to fix this?

I was looking around today and I think when I get home from work I will try on a different monitor to see if that fixes things, but any advice or suggestions are more than welcome.

Thanks in advance.
