GeForce GTX 660 on PCIe 2.0?

I know that 3.0 and 2.0 are backwards compatible, but would this hurt the performance of the card in any major way? (Paired with FX-8120). If so, would it be bad enough where I would have to bite the bullet and go for an i5-3470? Thanks for your insight.

no it will not hurt the performance in anyway....PCIE 2.0 is plenty bandwidth for any card out there right now. You will be fine
