My 2005 Dell just crashed (motherboard died). I can salvage my (new Hard Drive, the DVD RW, Monitors, Sound card, and Floppy drive (Hey if the case supports it why not!)

I'd like to get the best possible bare bones now, and add to it later. I'm looking at the AMD FX-8350 Eight-Core 4GHz AM3+ processor, and
Corsair XMS3 CMX32Gx3M4A1600C11 32 GB (8 GB Dimms)

I need to know what size power supply I need - I'm looking at the Ultra LSP series - they come in 550, 650 and 750Watts.

I also need advice on a case and a motherboard. I have plenty of room, so thought a Full Size case would run cooler and leave more room for expansion.

I have geek friends, but it's been too long for me to claim to be current!

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

Mary

Hi, if you motherboard died then you would probably need to buy a whole new computer.

2005 era of computer hardware isn't worth to fix anymore. So, just tell me your budget and I will make a build for you.

Thanks!

I will keep the monitors, and my hard drive is only a year old. I run one monitor as VGA and the other as HDTMI (I know there's an extra consonant there - but you'll know what I mean!

I'd like to keep it under $1,000.

Thanks for your help!

Regards,

Mary
