7870 Fan Speed

Hey so I just got the 7870 and noticed that when I run the fans at 80% or higher it kind of pulses? I don't really know how to describe it but it kind of pulses and is not steady. Is that normal?

It doesn´t seem to be normal -- as you have just got it, then try to describe the symptoms to the card manufacturer. If there is a problem, then you can RMA it, and get a new one.

it's what i feel on my case (the vibration increases then decreases at a pretty fast and steady pace) when i get the time i'll check it in afterburner later

okay on afterburner the fan speed is anywhere between 3990 and 4540 rpm but still the pulsing feels very weird i have an uneasy feeling about it like what jemm said

So do not let the time goes by until your warranty is over, contact the manufacturer and see what they have to say.

If it is under Newegg warranty, then yes, if not then call XFX.

alright thanks so much i ordered a new 7870 and am going to get a refund for this one we'll see if the new one has any problems like this
