HDMI causing reception issues on TV

connected via hdmi from pc to tv. tv is a panisonic (PT-52LCX65-K) multimedia projection hdtv. The computer is a acer aspire.
I get a picture that is perfect on the pc monitor but the picture on the tv is messed up there are red to sort of pink colour distortion in the picture in random areas.
how can I fix this? it has me stumped and it's driving me insane. Please help me!
System is a quad core running windows 7 64 bit

wiggle the hdmi....if it does not fix.....get a new cord
