I'd like to build a PC for gaming and also Photoshop/Illustrator work. I'd prefer to stay under $600 and can't go over $700. This first build is based on Tom's Hardware's most recent $500 gaming build, with a few tweaks. I also had to add the OS and monitor:

Antec VP-450 450W ATX 12V v2.3 Power Supply

Rosewill Blackbone Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

ASRock Z75 Pro3 LGA 1155 Intel Z75 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

EVGA SuperClocked 01G-P3-1463-KR GeForce GTX 560 (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Intel Pentium G860 Sandy Bridge 3.0GHz LGA 1155 65W Dual-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics BX80623G860

G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F3-10600CL9D-4GBPK

Western Digital WD Blue WD5000AAKX 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

ASUS VS208N-P Black 20" 5ms LED Backlight Widescreen LCD Monitor 250 cd/m2 ASCR 50000000:1

ASUS 24X DVD Burner - Bulk 24X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 12X DVD+R DL 24X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM Black SATA Model DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS - OEM

Microsoft Windows 8 64-bit (Full Version) - OEM

Also, do you think I should go with the SSD instead, as listed in the next build?

This second build is from Tek Synidicate. I am using the same case, power supply, monitor, and OS as the Tom's build:

OCZ Agility 4 AGT4-25SAT3-64G 2.5" 64GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

BIOSTAR TA75M FM1 AMD A75 (Hudson D3) HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

GIGABYTE GV-R667D3-1GI Radeon HD 6670 1GB 128-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card

AMD A8-3870K Unlocked Llano 3.0GHz Socket FM1 100W Quad-Core Desktop APU (CPU + GPU) with DirectX 11 Graphic AMD Radeon HD 6550D AD3870WNGXBOX

ADATA XPG Gaming Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model AX3U1600GC4G9-2G

So, any thoughts on which is the best setup? Will these builds work? Anything I should do differently?

Thanks very much for any help!

Was my post too vague? I apologize if it was not detailed enough or confusing :(
