How the message is transfer from one pc to another using switches and routers

This is so like a homework assignment.

It's like this;

The router is like a major freeway and knows how to send data to the proper off-ramp (switch).

A switch is like a freeway off-ramp's first connection the city streets, a lot of connections and it knows the place to send the data it gets from the router, right down to the very address (specific computer). Switches also handle local data traffic (among local computers) that doesn't need to go to the router for long-distance (who knows where) connections, like the internet.

Class dismissed.

Tomorrow, subnets and subnet mask.
