Does this build look about right? ~$1000, gaming + media

I do a decent amount of gaming (Civilization V, Portal 2, and XCOM: Enemy Unknown at the moment). Other than that and the usual word processing/Internet browsing, I watch a lot of TV/movies and occasionally do some statistical work.

The place where the PC will live has rather poor airflow, which is why I went for a couple cooling upgrades; being relatively quiet is somewhat important, too. I plan to pick up an external USB HDD for media storage.

In any case, for $980.35 ($1053, -5% from code, -$20 MIR for power supply, before tax and shipping):

More about does build right 1000 gaming media
  1. 16GB of RAM is unnecessary.

And this build is overpriced for what you are receiving. Building it yourself would yield a much lower price or much faster components.

  3. Euh, that's not the build I would go for for sure. Single video card solutions are generally a little smoother and more reliable than multi-card setups.
