This Issue “MAY” affect you if you are trying
to upgrade from Windows 7 Pro 64 bit to Windows 8 Pro.
If you have that board and perhaps other Asus Boards
in that spec range, and you experience the following
when trying to “boot” from the Windows 8 DVD and or
the Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit DVD.
“Windows encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer. This error can be caused by unplugging a removable storage device such as an external USB drive while the device is in use.
Make sure any removable storage is properly connected and then restart your computer.”

There is a change you may have a faulty USB Root Hub hardware
issue on your mother board “even though” all looks OK in device
manager and your Windows Install is working OK.
Considering the great amount of time I have spent trouble shooting this
down to the last detail I feel It is my responsibility to
share these findings with the community.
One fellow replied saying he did “not” have this issue with this
particular M Board. I trust all who may have this asus board
on your computer have his good fortune and can upgrade
to Windows 8 if you want to.
