That report was from some of the Earliest models about 7 months ago
+ Asus have since also re-released the 7950 Direct CUII with an updated cooler which has an extra heatpipe also (new version has 6 heatpipes)

I do not like the noise the MSI card makes...
The Asus purrs along So softly and is 4c cooler under gaming load than the MSI too:)

Asus has great customer support and is one of the better manufacturers. As far as just based on the specs the ASUS one is better. Both can be overclocked if you wanted to do that. If you were planning on playing Sleeping Dogs, then the MSI is a better deal as you get it free. Depends on those factors.

Yes but the card he linked is the original version and not the V2. Like I said, I wouldn't trust it.

ok, that might be so. But it should also be noted that the Asus was one of the Most popular early cards and sold out all over the place with people paying far over MSRP to get them, or facing weeks or moths of waiting on pre-order... am saying a LOT were sold and yet proportionately after reading a LOT of threads on many site in anticipation of receiving my card... I saw only few people with issues with the Asus 7950 Direct CUII TOP --- only 5 negatives on newegg (of only 18 reviews). I saw Very few people with issues on forums.

Also the Asus from Dabs also is part of the promotion to get Sleeping Dogs free ;)

thanx a lot for pointing out the asus cooler fault but, the manufacture codes seem to point v2? "Mfr#:
HD7950-DC2T-3GD5-V2" or i'm i wrong?

and also here's a link to the MIS card which i screwed up in the first post :??:  http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX...

and sleeping dogs is free with both cards, which i already a copy lmao :D

one more thing, can factory Oc'd cards be overclocked even more?

thanx :D

Mine should also arrive in a few days more - hope I am lucky and get a V2 also... bought mine new from an ebayer who sold a 2nd one he got as a gift and did not need. A good deal for £205, but less certain whether it is a V1 or a V2

heh Sounds Great to me

Can't wait to get my hands on mine, got a small delay though... forgot my default ebay address was still at my folks place (did not pay through ebay to adjust the address during payment) and am currently 250 miles away... -.-"

Still... something good to look forward to and a fine excuse for another trip home to spend some more time with family and friends ^^

Games should be so smooth now I imagine, almost exactly double the performance of our old cards. Fantastic performance for the money - being able to turn up all the settings again will be a beautiful thing :D
