No, there's no need for PCI-e 3.0 for a 7770. It will work perfectly fine in a PCI-e 2.0 slot :)

Actually PCI-E 3.0 is only really utilized when using a x4 or x8 port along with multi card systems. Since 3.0 is double the bandwidth of 2.0. 3.0's x4 is like x8 at 2.0 and x8 is like x16. That is the only true advantage to 3.0. So any GPU will be just fine. Secondly the 6850 is faster than a 7770 so get that regardless. Unless of course you can afford a 6870 or 7850. What is your PSU? You want it to be of good quality to run these cards. Also what resolution is the monitor you play on?

It will run with no difference in a 2.0 slot.

So then 1920 x 1080 resolution? The size tells us nothing only the resolution.

As for the PSU could you post a link to it if possible? I believe it's a Raidmax but not sure. If so that PSU will need to be upgraded.
