A few days ago my gtx570 started getting higher temps than usual, idling at 60c and hitting 80-82c gaming. Yesterday, I turned on my computer and nothing would display on the screen. Lights were on and all of the fans were spinning including the 570. I took out the card and put it into my older box, which was running a phenom ii on a biostar mb (my current is running an i5 on an msi board). Anyway, the gtx570 worked fine in the other rig.
I put my older card, a radeon hd4870 into my msi board, it worked fine, I ran around in crysis for a half hour which put it at 99% usage and the temps were all fine. The temps on the gtx570 were also normal, idling at 40-45c and reaching 72c when running msi kombustor for about 20 mins. I have no idea what's going on here. It doesnt seem to be a hardware problem as the 570 still runs fine on the biostar mb, and my motherboard runs the hd4870 fine. Any ideas as to what's going on here? Currently I'm running on the hd4870, and it's doing fine. My brother is using my gtx570 and it's working as well as ever.
I have also tried doing a clear cmos on my mb, but the card still wouldnt work. My power supply is an 850w corsair. Also, 3 or 4 days before this happened I had installed an asus xonar stx, but I'm guessing the timing was coincidence.
