Update d-link dir-100 firmware

I have downloaded the firmware update for DIR-100. It is a file with extension "bix". Howe to do now the update? My OS is ubuntu 11.10

log into your router. Go to the "tools" tab. Click "firmware" on the left pane/tree. It's obvious from there. See the link below and click on the image for the firmware upgrade.

if I do this I get the reply: Unable to connect with the server for firmware information.
This appeares permanently.

If you do what? When you try to login to your router? Don't bother hitting the "check now" button as you already downloaded the firmware. Just select the file and click the "update now" button.

If I click "check now" i get the reply: Unable to connect with the server for firmware information.
If I upload the downloaded bix-file I get the anwer: invalid file.
Now I try your link and will let you know.

ok, that link has no new info. the way to update I knew already, but it doesn't work

I don't know what to tell you. I can't find your router anywhere on d-links web site. I did find another person with this issue though. I'd try finding the firmware from somewhere else.
