Hello friends, the fact is that I have noticed that since I change from a HD 6870 to an HD 7870 I see almost no difference. Well, what happens is that I've noticed that in any game the gpu does not use more than 64% and I don't have vsync enabled. Also I don't think it's a bottleneck as I have a AMD Phenom II X4 955 @ 3,2 Ghz and it never uses 100% load (typically 75% -80% while gaming bf3 , or 60% while gaming mw3 ), even in the stress test of MSI Kombustor, GPU does not rise more than 64% and CPU load is only using 22%!!. I've noticed that sometimes the core clock rise up to 100% load but quickly goes back down to 64%. I have the Sapphire HD 7870 OC Edition and I tried to remove the Oc but the problem persisted. I am using the AMD Catalyst 12.8. Another thing I want to emphasize is that while I'm playing the core clock varies from 1050 Mhz to 450mhz constantly up and down. By the way I have 2 hd 7870 and the problems happens with both of them (without crossfire enabled) and when I have crossfire enabled both use also a maximum of 64% load. It is very rare that both have the same problem so probably the problem is not from the graphics. I am desperate!! PS: The problem also occurs with another motherboard with different Ram but with the same processor. my motherboard is Asrock 990FX Extreme 3, and the memories are 1333HMZ GDDR3 8Gb G Skill Ripjaws X. The problem is there also when I OC my CPU from 3.2 GHZ TO 3.8gHZ

please help. Thanks to all

I has the same problem, it's the driver. Go back to Catalyst 12.6, run a stress test (furmark or unigine heaven) and you'll see you're 7870 run at 100%

Using synthetic benchmark is good idea for performace test....
