Crossfire 7950 crash

Hi, i got 2 brand new amd 7950 vid cards in my high end computer in cf setting, but when i do, it crashes randomly? saying my driver was restored etcetera.

When i use only 1 card it works perfectly, i tried many things.

Boosting powersupply on each card, no overclocking just basic settings, increasing my fan speeds in my rig to the max (with a lot of noise), trying the latest 12.9 drivers and the 12.8, 12,6 no help... the application profile.

Disabling ulps etc... reinstalling drivers, plugging in the card again etc... till so far no fix... its a waste to only use 1 card when i just got my 27 inch 3d pc monitor screen and i want to play at 120fps in gw2 :(.... i could not find any fix anywhere.... please help?

  5. Hi, nothing fixed my problem not even reinstalling windows and redoing everything it still crashes, so i removed my 2nd card and now it works like a charm... but seriously i am getting angry at amd for this horrible card...

    So i want to know: is a sli setup 670 Gtx better than 1x 680Gtx? cuz 2 670 is 700 euro, and 1 680 is 500 euro,

Is it worth while to get 1 680 or the 2 670?

I only want to play guild wars 2 at max in 3d and star wars the old republic and skyrim.

    So what do you suggest?

    Gr Gaelwyn
  6. power supply could still be faulty, doesnt mater how good a brand and model *** happens (the most expensive psu i ever bought only lasted me 11 months got warranty and the replacement ones still going 2 years later, make sure you remove all overclocks to rule that stuff out. if you could be bothered do a quick fresh reinstall on the 2nd ssd to rule it out as well
  7. Did you do what i posted
  8. Hi, yes i did what you posted, and as soon that finished, no drivers from any videocard could be installed at all.... some driver error 39 kept annoying me, thats why i reinstalled the entire computer.
  9. #Jasont78 It is unlikely it could be that, its not that old, i got it since Januari... its still fresh.

And the crossfire set up with 2x 6970 worked like a charm without any issues, its really this type of card.

just thought i would bring it up, i new a guy who brought a brand new corsair psu for his compu. 2 weeks later his compu died, lets just say, he replaced the motherboard, the video card and ram before he actually realised the new psu caused it! so 400 bucks later the moral of his story, dont rule things out until you have actually tried a replacement :sarcastic:
