Hello everyone. I've never posted here, but then again, I've never tried to make a computer before.
So here's the deal, I was trying to make an AMD based computer. I had about $300 to work with (as well as parts from old PCs, including an HDD and keyboard, monitor, speakers and mouse). So, I decided to go with:
APU - A10-5800k Black Edition
4GB Memory @ 1600 (Corsair Vengeance Series)
I used the included heatsink for the APU.
The problem, and what I'm observing:
When I power up the system, nothing is displayed on the monitor. No BIOS or anything.
The CPU fan runs continuously, the LEDs on the front of the case light up, the Stand By LED lights up on the mobo and connected components such as speakers, and keyboard light up as well (If they have LEDs that is ).
So, as far as I can tell, power is getting everywhere, so it can't be the PSU or MOBO (Correct me if I'm wrong).
So, it must be the APU or the RAM.
I moved the ram to different sockets in the Mb without any effect.
I reseated the APU a few times and checked for bent pins... nothing there...
Does anyone have any idea?
(Before anyone asks, yes, I did connect the little 12V power thing. But, should it matter, my MB had socket for the PSU that had 4 slots and the PSU had a connector with 8 slots that split apart to be two seperate connectors with 4 slots each. One of those fit into the MB. I believe that is the CPU PSU)
Any help is appreciated!
It's probably some stupid small mistake, but help a noob out
