I am looking to build up a new pc and this is my first attempt at doing so. I am looking to build a gaming computer that is able to play games at the highest settings (looking at crysis 3 and wow). I am trying to get the best out of it i possibly can for about 1400 so I came up with this build and was curious to see what you guys think of it and if you have any recommendations.

Case- Cooler Master HAF932
Power Supply - Corsair 650tx v2
CPU- Intel I7-2600k
Heatsink-Thermaltake Frio
Motherboard- ASUS P8P67-M Pro
Memory- 4 GB G.Skill Ripjaws F3 4GB 128000 DDR3
Graphics Card- EVGA GTX 560 Ti
Hard Drive- Western Digital 1TB Caviar Black
SSD- OCZ 120 GB Agility 3
DVD- Lite-on 24x DVD +/-RW

Any thoughts and comments would be appreciated thanks!

Switch out the 560 ti for Radeon hd 7870(or hd 7850) since they are often around the same price, but 7870 is good enough to give gtx 580 a thrashing. Even 7850 is better than 560 ti and you get 2 gb of ram.

With 1400 you can do much better than a gtx 560 ti,(GTX 560 ti most definitely won't play any demanding game on highest setting) either try radeon hd 7950 or hd 7870 ghz. Switch i7 out for i5-2500k or 3550k, providing the i7 is costing more than i5, and put it towards a better graphics card. Heck, if you optimize the build you can get a hd 7970 with is the best card for the 300? range right now. GTX 670 is also doable but it loses to 7950 occasionally with high resolution or high anti aliasing and it loses to hd 7970 vanilla mostly everytime.

Of course, unless you are getting dat 560 ti for peanuts( as in less than $150). Then SLI :wahoo:

Here is a list of graphics card comparison, find the best price in your area for the performance(Read the catalyst 12.11 bars as they are what counts now)

From pricing my initial setup out it came out to be around at about 1405. So if do switch out the 560 ti for the radeon hd 7950 and bump down to the i5-2500k it evens out to about 1360. Any other recommendations? Also with that rig how well do estimate it would run some of the more demanding games at the higher settings. Thanks again this is my first time at attempting my own build (usually just buy pre built)
