I have a similar problem using a Smart Modular bluetooth dongle with WinXP
on my desktop pc.

Nokia PC Suite refuses to see the bluetooth connection and i'm having to use
a USB cable for data transfers.
When i first got the bluetooth dongle it worked perfectly with PC Suite -
but after a reinstall of WinXP it's no longer detected.

I've tried the latest drivers for my bluetooth dongle, and also reinstalled
the bluetooth dongle and PC Suite but it's not working together.

Martin.

Well i've now spent most of this afternoon trying to get PC Suite to detect
my bluetooth dongle with no joy.

I've now got two options...

1 - A new version of PC Suite is available for download from www.nokia.com
it's version 6.41 and is newer than my current version so i'm downloading it
now.

2 - It seems that PC Suite isn't compatible with all bluetooth drivers.
A list of supported bluetooth drivers can be found on the PC Suite download
page - http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,,54692,00.html - and my Smart Modular
Blue Opal dongle isn't listed as supported.
Windows XP SP2 has bluetooth support which may work with my dongle - but i'm
not keen on updating to SP2 as i don't have the time to fix any subsequent
problems. (I tried SP2 once and got fed up with all the work my pc needed
just to get something done).

Must i use the official Blue Opal drivers for my bluetooth dongle or would a
generic driver - supported by PC Suite - work i wonder...?

Martin.
