Basically I'm just asking the question above. I have been using a 1600x900 Acer x203H 20" display for a few years and it's always been quality picture. But I was thinking of getting a 21" 120Hz LED display, and I want to know how much of a performance drop I will have in games with my XFX Radeon HD 6870 1GB if I move to 1920x1080.

...

1600x900 = 1,440,000

1920x1080 = 2,073,600

1,440,000/2,073,600= 0.6944

0.6944 x FPS, or 70% of what you have now, assuming you don't hit memory issues. silly to waste money on 120Hz if you are going to use a low end card and not 3D
