Hey, I am currently thinking about buying a new graphics card for gaming.

I am unsure of which graphic card I should get, because I don't know if it will fit or work on my computer

I got a HP Pavilion p6 desktop computer
Intel Core i5-2400 processor @ 3.10Ghz (up to 3.4 GHz turbo)
8 Gb Ram ddr3
2 Tb of storage
GeForce GT 545 graphics card

And many thanks in advance for any suggestions. :)

Hey, you want to go up AT LEAST 3 levels on the "Graphics Card Hierarchy Chart"

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-card-review,3107-7.html

This way your upgrade would be worthwhile and have best value for your dollar.

Personally I'd go with a Radeon HD 7970, its one of the best cards out there (also one of the more expensive). Still if you are patient... you may see deals that put this card at a very reasonable price. I got mines for $335 earlier last month. You may choose to keep watch for a deal on this card

or

If this is still too much and you're looking to spend less, like around $200-$230, see if you can score a Radeon HD 7870 for around this price. Its a good card for this price range. This one too, you may keep watch, you just might find it at an even lower price....just have to keep your eyes out for them.

As for the fit.... You'll need to figure out the length of the cards which are commonly displayed on sale page....also equally as important, the watts your Power Supply supports so that it may power your card properly. Find both pieces of information and you'll be golden.
