Trouble installing Nvidia 9600GT in XPS 420

Hello everyone,

This is my first time on this forum. I just recently received a Nvidia 9600GT from my friend who bought himself a new card. I tried to install it in my XPS 420, but when I turn my computer on, the screen would be blank and my PC would beep constantly (no pauses). Could anyone tell me what the issue is? Thanks so much!

The specs for my computer are as follows:
Intel(R) Core (TM) 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz
8GB RAM
Widnows 7 Professional 64-bit
BIOS: Pheonix ROM BIOS PLUS Version 1.10 A06
ATI Radeon HD 3600 (Current V Card)
375w Stock Dell PSU

ok so from what I've seen it does require a PCI express power connector, so if you haven't connected that, you need to. Also try reseating the card in its socket, I've had issues with cards be resolved like that before.

Hey Thunder 490!

Thanks for replying. I realized that there IS a PCI express power connector... I didn't know what that was until your post haha. I'll try to install it this weekend when I have time. Thanks!!!
