Hello, I just moved into a shared house with existing wireless that is not secured. This household is a bit tech "handicapped"... is this easy to do??? What do I need/do to accomplish this?

Solution
the default passwords for router are admin, password, or BLANK.

if neither of those will work you can always reset the router to manufacturer default and start over with the configuration
Log into the router and enable the security under the wireless setting. Then under Wireless Security make sure you assign a strong password for the wifi like "@123Mystreet". Use Personal WPA2 + AES wireless mode if possible.

look at the online manual for more help

Thanks for your help. I know it is the solution, but.... we don't have the password to log on the router!!! All possibilities have been exhausted! SOOOO frustrating!!

Cable internet service and separate modem and router.
All for the want of simple password does our service stay unsecured!
