Hello,

I currently have a Biostar MCP6P M2+ 6.X mobo. It is listed as having 1-slot of PCI Express x16. I am currently running a EVGA 8800 GTS 320MB. In an effort to upgrade my computer a bit in order to play Call of Duty Black Ops 2 I am looking at available graphic cards.

Looking on newegg I see a lot of graphics cards listed for PCI Express 2.0 x16. I was specifically looking at:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Would this be incompatible with my motherboard? I'm assuming it is because my motherboard does not list 2.0 as the version of PCI Express. I wanted to double check because if it is incompatible it doesn't seem there are any upgrades available for my current card on my current mobo.

Thanks for the help.

Your BIOSTAR MCP6P M2+ Ver. 6.x is PCI Express Revision 1.0.

Graphics cards that are based on the PCI Express Revison 1.x or 2.x or 3.0 should be fully backward compatible with the PCI Express 1.0 x16 slot on your motherboard. They will just be operating in PCI Express 1.0 x16 mode though.

The card you have chosen should work fine.
