Hi Guys, :hello:

i need recommendations for a new build with the CPU being the i5-3570k (the only one on the budget good for OC and development)

The Purpose of the build is please/development and fondling around new technologies. At the moment i have a laptop for working which is not good enough would be probably selling this and using the cash and some extra cash to build the desktop.

Current Usage = script development/ web apps/ server deployment / testing / Linux from scratch

OC = definitely
OC noob = Yes

Budget = $1000 (not from US converted the price for ease)

I would be getting the Build done hopefully by mid-december and i don't want to overspent

Solution
you are better off with a i7 2600k or a 3700k depending on the price. they do a lot better at work

get a hyper 212 evo. saves money

get regular 1600mhz memory. fast ram is useless

get a cheaper case like a antec 302 if you have them

id suggest seagate if they are cheaper

id get smaller power supply such as a xfx 550w if you have them

The i7 is perfect for you.
A mild dedicated GPU would help you on video apps you might develop.Something cheap.
Get 16gb of low CAS ram.

A point you left out is sound.OCing generally involves alot of fans which create noise.Ask for a sound proof case and dead silent fans.For the heatsink you can go with the noctua d14 2011 or evo212+ and replace the fans.

Personnaly programming with alot of noise disturbs me alot.
You can also buy a cheap fan controller to switch between high cooling and silence.

Have you consider a new laptop?I find them great because you can plug a keyboard and mouse and screen on it and up the laptop itself away from you.

i live in INdia, prices a are higher here generally, thats why the i5-3570k if the price goes high i will just have to wait more :/
my budget is around 60K INR
And i dont like laptops, they are not meant for heavy duty work, i got a macbook 5.0
Core 2 Duo works really good but it just lacks the intensity of a mean machine.

i had something like this in mind

Intel 3.4 GHz LGA1155 Core i5 3570K Processor
noctua NH d 14
Gskill 16GB (8GB x2) DDR3 2133MHz
corsair 500r
WD Caviar Blue 500 GB or WD caviar black 1TB
Corsair HX650 650 Watts PSU

sure what motherboard to get and wether this would be good for my needs.

Ok this is what i have so far:

Processor = i7 3770k

Cabinet = NXZT Lexa S (mainly because its cheap 3 fans and looks good :D )

HDD = 2 TB seagate Baracuda

Processor Fan = Hyper 212 evo (though really want the noctua d-14 will see if it fits the budget later)

RAM = Gskill ripjaws (4X2) 8gb CAS 9

MOBO = ???

PSU = Seasonic s12 520W

Your Views.

and the is the RAM okay or should i go for lower CAS ??
and also if i am doing OC how far can this built take me? I am mainly concerned that the fans and mobo and ram are enough for OC, i will upgrade to 16 or 32 gb later for now i will keep 8 gb ram
