Red static on complex images Tags: Flat Panel Monitors LCD Peripherals Last response: August 16, 2003 5:22 AM in Computer Peripherals Share lowinor August 10, 2003 6:07:35 PM Sorry about double posting this, but I'm not sure if this is just a fact of LCD technology or unique to the panel I've got or a bad panel. I have a Viewsonic VP211b 21.3" panel. On complex (and especially dark) scenes displayed (primarily while gaming), I get red pixels randomly popping up, especially in darker parts of the scene. I recently replaced a Samgsung 21" CRT with this panel, and I'm running it on a Radeon 9800 Pro via the DVI-D interface. I haven't experienced this problem with my other lcd panel (a Sony SDM-72 17" panel) run via DVI-D. Is this a common lcd problem, a symptom of a bad panel, or just a panel with low bandwidth? I'm very appreciative of any responses; it's been difficult to find much detailed info on the larger lcd panels. What I'm thinking is the panel likes 60Hz but perhaps it gets pushed to 75Hz in games which screws things up? It's not about good or bad, it's about which gets you rich and laid faster.
