I got the Asus GTX 670 directcuII for 344 inc taxes
I DID NOT get the top version

After looking at a a lot of reviews, it seems that asus discontinued this model due to inconsistency and users have reported a lot of issues.

I'm wondering if i should return this and save my self the hassle and look for a better card?

Looking for opinions!!

Thank you

If there are plenty of cases of it and they stopped making it for that reason, and it is possible to return it i would do that. A little hassle now might save you a lot down the track.

Most of the issues that people had with the Asus 670's were related to them using the GPU tuning software included with the card. Asus acknowledged that was causing the "Overboost" on the cards which caused them to crash. I picked up my 670 Top version and downloaded drivers from Nvidia and used MSI afterburner. Only crash I had was when I tried undervolting my CPU overclock to lower temps. Cheers.

If it was discontinued for issues with that card, i also say return it and look at some of the other options:

Any of these would work just as well in my opinion. (but if you ask me, i would go with the MSI since it boasts great overclocking capabilities and other features as well.)
