so i own a gtx 670 gigabyte oc its an awesome card but on battlefield 3 when something blows up creating smoke my frames will go from 70+ down to 30ish but on my old card witch was a AMD 7850 the frames would stay the same. also my clan mates that own the gtx 670 get the same problem. so is this something to do with the card or are they able to bring out a new driver?
Thanks in advance

There will be a setting you can change to turn down the level of detail in situations like this one. Look through the BF3 video settings (I can't, as I don't own the game) and look for something like "particle quality".

Well, the 7850 is not "much worse" than the 670. It's hardly different at all. You may have had different settings on then, or some new, intensive setting may have become available with the installation of an Nvidia card. Nvidia and AMD use different types of specialized AA, for instance.
