Olympus way more popular in Britain?

I've always thought it was.
Then I see a full page ad for
a new Sigma lens, dedicated to the
4/3rds system and Olympus in a Brit photo mag.
The U.S. seems to be the bastion
of Canon/Nikon with the rest trailing
way behind. Not that there isn't good
reason now, but back when, there is NO
way I'd have taken a Nikon FM over an
Olympus OM-1.
