Video card for my pcie 1.0 mb

Hello i my friend has this hd 7750 and i tried it but doesnt work on my current system, asus p5kpl-am epu mobo, 2gb ram, 1600 x 900 reso, 500 watts hip psu, windows 7 OS. Is it because of i havent updated my bios?

hmm. my main question is what video card can u advise me?
my estimated budget is around $100-110

im drooling for a gtx 650 or that 7750 but i think its impossible right now because i have tested a pcie 3.0 on my pc and nothing happens
i think a ddr5 pcie 2.0 will do but which one will i buy?

Well, I think it would still work, it would just get a bit of a bottleneck because I think is 4.8gbps while a 1.0@x16 is only 4gbps. But if you are nervouse about doing it you could get a 6770, That shouldn't get a bottleneck. I'm pretty sure the 650 would have a more substantial bottleneck than the 7750 though becuase it has higher data transfer rate.

You will not be bottlenecked by the pcie connection as dan was talking about because these are low end cards. Memory bandwidth is irrelevant to pcie, this is the speed to the vram located on the gpu itself. The 6770 uses more pcie bandwidth than the 7750 or 650.

Try the latest bios version.

the fan is running but the screen has no display when i connect it, maybe a bios update will do but i dont know how to update it hehe

yes that is one of my options but i have to learn first how to update my bios hmm, my current vios version is 0415 in asus.
