I recently updated my driver to the newest nvidia driver and have been noticing stuttering and fps drops. Anyone else having the same problem. And what driver would you recommend to install in replace of this one.

NVIDIA GTX 560 Ti AMD Phenom II x4 965 BE @ 3.4ghz. 8gb of gskill 1600 12800 ram. I just upgraded from my 460 to this. And didnt see any problems with the 460, but I was on the previous driver with the 460.

Definitely not a problem with the new driver then, plenty of people reporting it working with the 560ti..

Must be something else... Did you choose the fresh install option (can be found by choosing custom in the installer)..

Also what games and what fps?

BF3 is what I've noticed it with. I rolled back my drivers and it put it to 295.73 and it seems to be fine. I have not tried the fresh install. Ill try it right now though.

And its weird. I get like 80+ and it feels really choppy. Its not smooth. But when I do get stutters and fps drops it goes to about 40

Well BF3 will get fps drops now and then especially on MP... a lot of it depends on res and settings though....

Just to double check, is your monitor capable of displaying more than 60fps?, ie more than 60hz refresh rate?

No, I have 2 Acer 20" S200HL monitors and the refresh rate is 60hz. Its weird because I've never had it do that before. But it could have been that I was playing on 32 player Gun Master servers when I noticed it.

Well the first thing is that you cannot dispaly more than 60fps on those monitors without experiencing "screen tearing", you have to enable vsync and this will lock you to 60fps.

As for drops down to 40fps, I would consider that normal in BF3 especially on MP.

If you are still experiencing issues post back, how is your performance in other games?

The weird thing is, I tried vsync and theres screen tear. So I capped it at 70 and its fine. All other games run fine, but I've only played CS:GO and CSS since then which arent really GPU intensive. I'm probably going to play some day z hear sortly and see what its like on that.
