Good evening all,

I am trying to find a graphics card that will work appropriately with my Gateway DX4860 desktop so I can play some of the more demanding current games. I have 6 GB of RAM currently installed with a 3.30 GHz process with a 1600 by 900 20 inch monitor. My budget is about $150 - $400, so my question to you guys is this:

1. Which graphics card will work best with my desktop and give me the best "bang for my buck."

2. If I need to upgrade my desktop's power supply, what's the appropriate one to purchase?

Thanks in advance guys.

What power supply do you have? the 300W or the optional 500W. If it was me, I would buy a quality PSU (500, or 550w), and then maybe a 7870. You should be able to get both for under 400 probably closer to 300-320.

It's a 300 W (Gateway DX4860-UB32P model). I hear the 7870 is pretty long, are you certain everything would fit snug inside?

Forgot to ask, which PSU do you recommend? Currently the one in my PC is a FSP Group.
