DOA Graphics Card?

I bought a HD 7870 but my computer is not identifying it. What is weird is that the cooler works and I can plug my monitor in it. My computer is identifying a Standard VGA Graphics Adapter, which I guess it's from the mobo. I don't know if the graphics card is faulty or if I did something wrong (it's the first time I built a computer). Help?

My mobo is GAZ77M-D3H.

Did you install the driver, until you do that, the computer will not identify it properly. Download from whoever made the GPU card.
