I am going to take the ccna exam in a few months. I took the classes a few years ago, failed the test BARELY, now i want to get back into the field. I have seen alot of study guides out there. any in particular that anyone used RECENTLY to study and pass thier ccna exam?

the good news is you have a lot of options when it comes to preparing for this exam.

first, the books:

* cisco press is probably the best - go to the source, right!

then, a lab:

* you'll need something to practice on - either a simulator or actual hardware (buy used old stuff, that's ok)

now get some instruction:

* bootcamps are too rushed and expensive so you might be better off with video tutorials - bosscbt.tv is really good and cheap. others exist as well.

some words of caution:

* avoid brain dumps - you just can't trust them for accuracy
* avoid the expensive copies of tests - they might help you pass but you won't actually learn anything (and that's what really counts on the job)
