why that comparison? Why not compare your budget or the the best of both?

What apps and usage do you have - do you have any components already?

Either one on their own without information is totally useless. They do not even make good paperweights unless you leave them in the box with the heatsink... :cool:

I bought the 1.2ghz T-Bird. Reason, best price for the performance. If you had two systems the same except one was a PIV 1.5 the other 1.2 T-Bird you would probably not be able to tell the difference, in fact if you could, the T-Bird system would be slightly faster on most things, that is if you could tell without benchmarking.

If I had to assemble a system RIGHT NOW for ultimate power and acceptable stability/compatability (I have high standards for "acceptable"), I would go for the AMD 1.4GHz chip on an Asus A7A266, which is cheaper than the P4 1.5GHz on ANY P4 board. Appologies to my loyal Intel comrads.
