XP does not accept my scanner please help!

I have a Mustek 1200 UB Plus scanner
and Windows XP
I am trying to reinstall my scanner to a new computer. It
has worked on the old one with the same Operating System.
When I install the software and plug in the scanner it
installs giving me the message :
Cannot install this hardware-
Problem installing this hardware- USB Device

This class installer has denied the request to install or
upgrade this device-
It does this now on both computers with Windows XP
USB is in right porthole.

Check the Mustek website for updated drivers for the scanner. While the OS
is the same, other devices might be different and as such, may be
conflicting with the old driver for the scanner. If an updated driver
doesn't resolve it, contact Mustek tech support for help with this issue.
