What problems occurred if graphics card gets too hot?????

my pc configuration is as following
intel core i5 611 @ 3.33GHz
6 gb ddr3 ram
nvidia geforce 9500 gt 1 gb graphics ram
the problem is while watching movies i see too high sharpen picture, its like too many small pixels in picture, i applied heat sink compound before 3 days to gpu, so is dis problem is occurring becoz of heat sink compound????? plz help me

artifacting can be caused by high temperatures, yes. How much "compound" did you put on? it only needs a dab from a grain of rice to the size of small pea, depending on the size of the chip.
