I5 and ssd or just i7?

Hey guys, I was just wondering if i should get an i5 3570k and samsung 830 128gb. Or i can go with an i7 3770k, and by the sounds of things there is no difference between the i5 & i7 for gaming but i was also planning on doing some video editing.

OS: Windows 7 64bit sp1
OPTICAL DRIVE: Asus 24x blah blah blah
HDD: WD caviar black 1TB 7200rpm

well the SSD will be a major advantage for video editing and suchlike. A lot of data gets shifted about.

I personally would go for the i5 and maybe a 240-256GB SSD if you can stretch to it...

Downgrade the PSU to a 750W, the Extreme6 to an Extreme4 and the H100i to a Noctua NH-D14. Then you should be able to afford the i7 and the SSD.
Could downgrade the case as well.

I was originally going to get a hx750 but I got the hx1050 for the price of the 750 so I thought why not. I can save longer for an ssd because I don't want to downgrade my system too much.

Have you looked at the backplate and checked that it's evenly screwed in? Sometimes the backplates go dodgey lol

The i7. You can always get an SSD later on. If you're doing video editing, the HT on the i7 can result in performance increases of 20% or more.
