I found this great site about a week ago and have been reading it like crazy lately. People here seem pretty knowledgeable so I thought I'd ask if anyone would like to comment on the system I have ordered. It is as follows:

Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H-WB LGA 1155 Motherboard

Intel Core i7-3770K Processor

Kingston Technology 8GB DDR3 Desktop Memory (KVR1333D3N9/8G). I got 4 of them for a total of 32GB

GIGABYTE Radeon HD 7970 3GB GDDR5 PCI-E Video Card

Corsair 750W PC Power Supply

Nzxt Full Tower Steel Computer Case (CA-PH410-G1) - Gunmetal

and for the time being, I'm just using my maxtor 250GB HD 7200rpm and my dvd drive. Weak links, I know, but I ran out of money :)

Any thoughts on this? If I screwed up somewhere I'd love to know while I can still cancel the order.

Thanks

Yeah gaming and the usual internet/movie/itunes/torrents stuff you'd expect. I thought by going to the 3770 and all the ram I'd be "setting up for the future". But I guess it's just overkill?

32gb of ram is serious overkill--8gb is plenty for gaming

the 3570k is the right choice for gamers

use the savings to get what you are really missing--a ssd drive

also i just bought the gigabyte 7970--great card

but very disappointing that gigabyte have locked increasing the voltage on some newer revisions of the 7970

cant overclock mine at all--its factory overclocked already--but earlier models could increase the voltage and overclock even
