I want to upgrade to a new graphics card from my current 9400GT to newer one to play games like BF3, Crysis2 with ultra settings.

Should i go with AMD or NVIDIA?

Also, Nvidia has Physx and Cuda, If i buy AMD, will I get something like Physx and CUda in AMD also?

Will i get the same result from AMD without Physx, CUDA as that of NVIDIA?

And finally, Which one should I buy?
550ti
HD 6770
HD 6790

My config for PC

I5 2500K
4Gb DDR3 RAM
Intel DH67BL Motherboard

More about : gtx 550 6770 6790

Will i be able to play with ultra settings with these cards?

Also, suppose i go for AMD, will i get Physx and Cuda like facilities in 7770?

Tell me in detail about 650 and 7770

no for running these games at ultra you would need gtx670 with some lower resolution than 1080p maybe gtx 680 would do the job. phsysx is supported by very less titles you should not worry about that & those are just eyecandy nothing else. In games other the physx titles you wont get any advantage in Nvidia cards.

Ok
One more thing

I am planning to buy PSU from iball or vip and its of 500w

Will this work with new graphics card?

Some one suggested me not to use local psu.

Should i stick with IBALL or VIP?Or go with others like cooler master?

Go with the decent one like cosair, xfx, antec. Cooler master will also do the work.

With a AMD card physx is not supported. You have to use nvidia card with high budget like gtx670. Gtx550ti or gtx650 is not enough for physx.

Between gtx650 and 7770, 7770 is superior. I say go for 7770 and forget about physx for few games.

I know from experience, that a 550Ti will not play any of those games with ultra, you are looking at around med-high for all of them.

+1. All these three card, gtx550ti, 6770, & 6790, can handle those game on ultra setting. But not in Multiplayer, only in singleplayer.

One more thing to ask

I have a top SMPS mounted cabinet

now for new graphics card, i require higher psu with 500w atleast

Nowadays, psu comes with big fan at bottom.

NOw if i mount those psu on top in my cabinet, the fan will be at bottom of psu and it will be facing inside the cabinet.

So it will exhaust the air inside the cabinet,

Will it be ok?Is this the way it is mounted in cabinets?

If you have good intake and exhaust fan, then it will be not a problem.

I am using top mounted psu, fan facing inside. I dont see any problem.

I'm rolling with a HD 6670, 850 MHz/1100 MHz in Battlefield 3, high with no AA/MSAA and I get 30+ in multiplayer on a 1080p monitor. GTX 550 ti is better than my card so I don't see why it wouldn't run high but ultra? Something like a 7850 would be the bare minnium and for Crysis 2, then GTX 670 at best.

yup hd7770 is the better card among all those you are considering. but not even hd7770 can handle ultra settings for BF3 and Crysis 2 at 1080p at a smooth frame rate. for 1080p i would suggest either hd7850 or gtx660 non ti.. for less than 1080p though hd7770 is the best card.. and please dont go for iball or vip psu no matter what card you buy. those psu are not going to be able to handle any card that requires a 6 pin pcie connector .. but if you insist on iball or vip then hd7750 is the most i would recommend as it draws very little power and does not require any pcie connection. but the trade off is you would not be able to game at ultra setting with this card.. so make your choice accordingly

@ 10k you should go with 7770 or wait for 650ti pricing to come in india. Also if you are willing to spend 11k you would get 560 which is far superior.

Just for info gtx 650 is 8k in India for 1gb AMP edition & 2gb would be 600-700 extra

With $200 you can get HD7850. It will be great and you have a high-end gaming cpu. Why through a budget card on that high-end 2500k?

Check this sapphire 7850 in India. Its $195

Hope you will get it under 10000Rs and have fun with that.

Though 7770 is 1ghz, but its memory is at 128 bit and 640 stream processors

While 6850 is 775ghz but its memory is 256 bit and also it has 960 stream processors

Should i go with 7770 or 6850?

Between 7770 and 6850, 6850 is bit faster. But about power, noise, and temp 7770 is better as it is 28nm tech where 6850 is 40nm tech.

There is not too much difference between them. If you care about heat and power consumption, then 7770 is to go.

So you mean to say, I will get similar gaming performance from 7770 comparing it with 6850 with less noise and power consumption.

So should i go with 7770?

I am planning to buy HIS 7770 iCooler model mostly Or His 6850 iCooler version

Will 7770 perform great with games?

As i said, 6850 is little bit faster. Dont look at the spec of gpu. Real time performance differ from spec. So look for benchmark.

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/536?vs=539

Between these two card, i will get 7770, even 6850 is a little bit faster. Because 7770 consume less power and produce less heat. So it will be good after 1 year use than 6850.

Less heat make a gpu more efficient. So my choice is 7770.

Choose This mate:

For lower resolution: Sapphire HD 7770 vaporX
For 1080p resolution: Sapphire HD 7850

If you prefer AMD base GPU's. Choose Sapphire. Hands down. ;)

It will fit on that mobo. No problem. Make sure you have 8.35" in your case to room it length wise.

But sapphire will be better than HIS will fit in your mobo too.
