So, recently Dota 2 has been crashing my graphics drivers.
This locks up the screen for a couple seconds until I can ctrl alt delete and terminate the process and then re-connect.
When it crashes, the process is still running, and I can hear the game sounds and apparently move my character around in game, but cannot see anything, and nothing I do can bring the game back up, leaving me to re-start the client.
I dont understand why.
I run Guild Wars 2 on Max settings for like 20 hours and not a single crash, let alone graphical error and that game is far more demanding than Dota 2.
All my drivers are up to date on a fresh install of windows to a SSD.
AMD Radeon HD 7770 Ghz Edition
Intel i5 3570k at 4.0 ghz with Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus heat sync
Gigabyte GA-Z77M-D3H-MVP Motherboard
Crucial M4 128 GB SSD
16 Gigs PNY Signature Ram at 1600 mhz
CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX750 Power Supply.
This computer is more than capable of running Dota 2 as Im sure, however, it doesnt.
It doesnt seem to crash my drivers when I run on low quality, but what the ***. The point of me buying this computer was so I didnt have to run on low quality.
Granted, its not the best graphics card, but its by no means terrible.
My temperatures are fine, my CPU temp using Dota 2 max settings is only 43 degrees,
Graphics card is 46.
Case has 9 fans in it on a push / pull configuration. The air coming out of it is colder than the air in my apartment.
Help me out here.
I know the AMD Drivers arent the best for these cards, as it even crashes Xsplit half the time. But is there anything I can do to make the game atleast run for an entire match without crashing?
Ive tried setting Dota 2's process to run on only 2 cores (0,1) rather than all 4.
Ive even un-done my overclock to see if maybe it wouldnt help out.
Uninstalled and safe-mode wiped all the AMD CCC Drivers and files and re-installed twice, still nothing.
This is the only game that crashes my set up.
