HD6950 vs. GTX570 - 2GB vs. 1280MB - texture quality?

Hi,

I wonder, an HD6950 2GB and a GTX 570 1280MB, will the 6950 be able to run higher resolution textures?
Otherwise I know the 570 is faster, but I wanna know specifically about textures.

technically yes but there aren't any real need over that in games. For high def textures the 570 should still have enough vram for 1080p game play.

So the resolution matters too?
Because I'm using a 1680x1050 monitor and am running BF3 on Ultra textures with the HD6950, and just found a good sale for the GTX 570 1280MB.

The 570 should be slightly faster and shouldn't have a problem with the textures. The thing is, there really isn't too big of a difference between the performance of the 2 cards, maybe 15-20% at best.

I like that boost, and I will be getting the GTX 570 for cheaper than what I paid for the D6950 2GB.
In fact if I sell the 6950 I'll be making some dollars out of this deal. The GTX 570 I found is 207 USD, and in my country a new one costs exactly double that - 414 USD.

GTX 570 gets my vote i have owned both cards in the past the 570 is a little bit better trust me or not it's your choice.I can tell you benchmarks differ from different test set ups and the 6950 is more compared to a non reference 560 ti then a 570.
