Video Noise With 7950

I've built a new PC recently and I've noticed that I get subtle noise in the display. By subtle I mean that you have to lean in to see it and it's more visible on a black background. It's hard to see, but it's there, and it's noise, and it shouldn't be happening.

It's a Gigabyte 7950 connected to an LCD monitor via HDMI. I just yanked the card out and tried out the onboard video and there was no noise.

Any idea what could be causing this? Do I need to RMA the card or is there a possibility of it being caused by something else?

Thanks in advance.

More about video noise 7950
  1. Hi everyone. I connected the monitor to the card via DVI cable and the noise is gone. I'm still really curious as to what could cause my video cards HDMI output to look like an analog signal like that, but I guess as long as I never need to use the HDMI for anything too important then the problem is "solved."
