Recently I built a new tower (see sig) however, only recently has my current problem arisen. When I first made the new build, I wanted to research a GPU a bit, so I decided to use the on board for a while, no problems whatsoever. I finally settled on a Zotac GTX 660 Ti by Nvidia and added it to the system, thats when the issues jumped out.
Whenever I leave my comp alone now and it goes into standby mode, it won't reactivate when I come back to it. When I try to use the shutdown button, windows shuts down, but the comp stays active with a black screen. When I hit the reset button, it shuts down and wont reboot but the system stays active.
So I updated the firmware for the GPU...nothing. I updated bios, chipset, etc firmwares...nothing, well not exactly, since after that I removed the GPU and tried to see if the onboard would still work alright with no issues. And but of course, nope...now when I try to shutdown windows, it crashes on the shutdown screen!
Now I have NO idea if it's an issue directly tied to the installation of the GPU, or just bad timing and it's actually a faulty mobo?!?
