sony dvd-rw drive not recognizing dvd disks

My sony dvd rw dru-530 drive is not recognizing or buring
onto a dvd disk. Any takers on this problem?

Do you have DVD burning software installed.... ? Nero, Roxio, Sonic MyDVD
etc? XP cannot burn to DVDs by itself.

If the Sony DVD/RW drive came with your computer check if
your warenty is still in tack..If not still contact
www.Sony.com and ask for tech help..

To PLAY a DVD disk you need DVD decoding software. It's usually WinDVD or
PowerDVD... you need to install/reinstall your copy.

To BURN a DVD you need to install/reinstall your DVD burning software,
either Sonic MyDVD, Roxio or Nero.
