Ok so i have a setup of Belkin wireless N router which connects to the internet and shares it to my Desktop via Ethernet and to my laptops via Wifi.
Now when i transfer files from the desktop to laptop via the ethernet connection i get the full 100mbps speed but if i use wifi to transfer my speed drops to 8-16mbps. All three laptops and desktop are on win7. The connection speed varies from 108mbps to maximum. But the speed never goes past 16mbps ie 2mBps.
I have had this problem since years. I used to think its coz of my old wireless G router but i got the new N router still the same problem. All the laptops have N connection.
Help will be appreciated.
Thank you !!
PS : My first post !!

Try changing wireless channels. maybe neighbouring networks are using up the "bandwidth in the air" on a certain channel (ie imagine you are in a classroom full of people talking, you would have troble talking to even the person in front of you, same situation here)

On the copying status box, there is a "more info" button. Click it and see what speed it says.

Typically on 108mbps wireless link it looks right. On Wireless G at 54mbps I typically get 2MB/s
