The intel b75 supports any ivybridge cpu without flashing the bios.

Yea, people told me that b75 mobo works.

That mobo will not work. You need to get an H77 or a z77. This is the cheapest board that will work.

GIGABYTE H77M-D3H INTEL H77

If you can stretch your budget to make that work, you would have a fantastic build. If not, I will try to piece another build together for you.

And yes, the h77 ones from this site are overpriced. But I think its preferable to have a better overall setup with a b75 than a h77 with weaker parts. Thats just my opinion. Only if it wasnt so expensive ...

You're right, I really don't know what I was thinking. For whatever reason, I thought that the b75 was a q75, like sandy bridge, but oh well. But yes, the h77 does have more features, but is not necessary.

I agree. So is this build good to go? Also, I know nothing about cases. So is there a better case at the same price or somethng?

PS: And is there other thing I should change?

You picked a good case. If anything you could drop down to the CM K280, but its only a few euros.

Thanks! Any other thing to change?

Which one of these parts is better (they are the same price, so Im just wondering about the brand. Range 5€)?

Asus mobo, although Gigabyte makes a very nice board. They are more or less equal.

Get the cheapest RAM you can, just make sure that the speed is 1600 and its voltage is 1.5v or less.

Get the WD 500GB 64MB Sata III

Get the Msi card

Get whatever CD drive you want, its just a cd drive

Get the XFX PSU.

Normally I would say blue, but it looks like the green has a much larger cache, so go with the green. Cache kind of acts as a scratch disk, so the more the merrier.

Thanks so much! Wouldnt have looked at that without your help.

Just curious. How does cache affect gaming, at what levels?

zared619 said:
You wouldn't really see a difference between 16 mb of cache and 64mb of cache in gaming. Cache is useful if you are photo or video editing. But it doesn't do much for gaming. You still need some cache though.

Hope that helps.

Since I will only game and surf the net (nothing of photo/video editing) I think the blue is better. I heard it runs faster (7200 rpms). Also heard the 64 mb cache wont increase anything in my case against the 16 mb

zared619 said:
For sure go for the faster drive. Especially if you are using it as your only hard drive.

Thanks. Going for the blue then, and its cheaper. Maybe because of the cache (16 to 64). One thing Im not sure is that if the green is slower than the blue (rpms) and if it is more important than cache for gaming.
