First Build, Compatibility and some veteran advice...

current parts:

Motherboard: P8Z77-V pro (ASUS).

CPU: Intel i5-2500k

GPU: GeForce GTX 660 Ti

Ram: Corsair Vengeance
2x8GB = 16GB

Internal HD: Western Digital caviar black 1Tb + Western Digital caviar blue 500Gb.

Case: ??
Not sure.. mid tower maybe.

PSU: Corsair 800w GS series GS 800

Anything wrong? would it run fine? compatibility issues? any parts worth keeping or removing?

Everything seems very good. A coolermaster haf case or carbide case is good.
I would pay a bit extra like $50 for an amd 7950 gpu. With the newest drivers it beats the gtx 670 in alot of games and challenges the 680

Gaming?

Go with 8 GB of Ram (2x4GB)
Change CPU to Ivy 3570k
Change the pus to a 650 Watt (good brand choice)
Use the extra $$ to get a 128 GB ssd (for OS and maybe 1 game/app)
No Cooler? Hyper 212 would be a good add as well.
