I will be playing bf3 at ultra

B 670 4gb might sli later
C 7970

The 480 SLI setup would be the fastest by a decent margin, but it would use an extreme amount of power and I don't trust your PSU with that. Otherwise the 7970 is the choice that I'd make.

I wouldnt bother with the SLI options for your setup. The 670 seems like the best option purely for BF3, it can max it very easily @1080p.... you can SLI it if you need to in the future...

The 7970 is another good option, but in BF3 the 670 will usually be better..

570 SLI is roughly identical to 480 SLI in performance with somewhat lower power consumption. It's not worth it either.

You'll be good with 2gb whilst your on a single 1080p monitor, if you plan on going any bigger then its worth considering the 4gb

SLI needs no less memory per GPU than a single GPU setup needs.

It's not bad at all but I would go with a single GTX 670 for BF3 and then SLI later if you want to. When you SLI or X-fire you can run into some minor tearing/stuttering issues. Some people it really bothers while others hardly notice it. Some games run good with SLI and X-fire while others are just ok and some games you can't even run while in SLI/X-fire.
