I'm looking to expand my laptop screen from ONE (VGA or HDMI output) to TWO 1920 x 1080 monitors (VGA or DVI input). I know Matrox makes some expansion modules. Are there any cheaper alternatives? I am willing to pay up to $100.

Thanks for you help.

PS> I'm NOT looking for a splitter that shows two identical images, but one that divides my screen, similar to a dual monitor videocard.

Yes but its $169.99

Not too sure but those that looniam suggested seem to use usb as the input, could that not be used in conjunction with the existing output on the laptop? Never seen them before.... just a thought?

True, keep in mind that you need two USB adapters. The display expander needs duallink, dp or thunderbolt to work.... don't know if you laptop has that. USB 2.0 might be slow... don't know, just a thought? Be interesting if you post back your results after you buy.

If you get one with a USB to VGA that is one, then you have the VGA built into laptop for the other.
You will actually have 3 screens including the built-in Screen of the laptop.

I found this one, but no reviews.
